Losing weight is social–enlist your friends!


This fascinating study provides support for what other studies have shown: if we want to lose or maintain weight, it’s important to enlist friends, family, and co-workers–at least, the ones we eat around–in the goal of weight loss/maintenance. I’m going to put a more positive spin on this subject than the authors: body weight appears to be mediated powerfully through social networks, and our individual choices and habits to lose or maintain weight can help others with theirs!
